Hello and welcome to Sophie Land. It's the second episode. It is with Amy Glethill, who you already know and love.

I met Amy, 2012, 2013, thereabouts when she'd only done a couple of gigs and she was so funny and is still one of the funniest people I know and just the nicest person

and she is blowing up at the moment which is so well deserved and I love her. I was about to say

I fancy her. Maybe I do. I do love her definitely. I am going to let you listen to the episode

very soon. It is the second episode. Spoiler alert,

sort of disclaimer behind the scenes announcement. We are recording the episodes very much in a row,

so there are seconds between them. I'm trying to create the illusion that they're also

recorded a week in between.

We talk a bit about comedy in this one.

In my previous podcasts, I haven't really spoken a lot about comedy with the people I've been speaking to.

It's most of been about trauma and the sadness and the struggles.

But so, so part of me was like, I wonder if people listening to this will care.

I wonder if you're all going to be like,

oh, we don't want to hear about writing jokes. But I really want to talk about it. I am doing a lot of the comedy writing at the moment. And I am so, and you know what, especially when it comes to women and like people who are not men,

in comedy, we so rarely get to talk about writing jokes.

I feel like with men, they get to be asked these intricate questions about their process.

And, you know, we've got a lot of books about, you know, Stephen King writing a whole book

about how he sits in his barn and writes his books and blah, blah, blah.

And then, like, when you, a lot of interviews, when, like, women and comedians are interviewed,

it's a lot about their emotions and a lot
