The World Health Organization has confirmed dozens of people, including Americans, left the ship upon which a haunted virus outbreak has killed several people and flew home after the death of the first passenger, but before they knew they'd been exposed to a contagious and deadly disease.

On Thursday, May 7th, ocean-wide expeditions, operator of the cruise ship M.V. Hondias,

says at least 29 living passengers from 12 countries disembarked to the ship and went home

after the death of the first passenger on board.

This was before officials knew of the outbreak.

Those countries are Canada, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, New Zealand, Switzerland, Sweden,

Singapore, St. Kitsynvus, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the United States.

That same day, according to a World Health Organization doctor, some of those passengers

shared an airplane to Johannesburg with a woman from the ship who later died.

The doctor says none of the remaining passengers or crew aboard the M.V.

Hondias are symptomatic, but that, quote, it is possible

more cases will be reported, because it can be up to six weeks before those infected with the

Andes variant of hanta virus shows symptoms. He insisted the public health risk remains low.

Currently, nearly 150 individuals are confined to the M.V. Hondias. This group represents

23 different nations and includes 17 citizens of the United States. As of Thursday,
