When we left off in the summer of 1978,

Senacor founder Luke Austin had been ousted after he siphoned off most of the organization's money

to support a life of luxury for himself.

Senacor still had two facilities.

Its original headquarters in Colorado, and its newer operation in Houston, Texas.

But the organization was broke.

And the 75 or so people living in Houston were struggling.
