We are often told

that American Jews

should be treated as American only and they're not Israeli and their opinions on Israel have nothing to do with being Jewish. And that's not true. But guess what? There's nothing wrong with that.

I will tell you there are many Irish Americans, some of whom have never been to Ireland.

They might be third or fourth generation.

And they have opinions about Ireland that are affected by that.

I can tell you being married to a woman from India

that there will always be a connection to India.

There will always be a hope that India will improve itself,

that India will make gains, that India will be safe and secure.

And she's from a military family.

Everybody in the family's in the military.

So there is a great sense of national pride

and a great sense of concern for the safety and security

of a country that's basically been at war for

its almost 75 years of existence? Yeah, absolutely. And no matter how many years she

lives here, she'll always have in the back of her mind,

not only because she has relatives that still live there, but because that affects you.

There is a Jewish connection to Israel.

I don't know why we act like there isn't. It's unhealthy to deny things that

are both true and obviously to outsiders true. There is also the belief by many Christians
