It was announced yesterday, of course, from Rome that the American Cardinal Robert Prevost was elected the 267th Pope.

He chose the name Leo the 14th.

And his first words to the faithful were, may peace be with you all.

All right.

So, okay, this is so fascinating to me as a non-Catholic.

I was talking to some people about this yesterday.

It's like being able to be an outsider looking in because all of these things are happening.

And in a sense, it does impact me because as we saw with great world leaders like John Paul II, the right Pope and the alliance that he made

with Margaret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan can have a profound influence on the world whether you're

Catholic or not. Absolutely. Even if you're non-Catholic, he has influence over 1.4 billion people.

And foreign policy and the ability to unite world leaders around common causes,

et cetera, et cetera. So it does have an impact in that sense. However, from a just purely religious

perspective, I am not a Catholic, so I'm able to watch this from afar and see all of these people

who are responding to this thing in real time. And this isn't, like,

nobody thought this was going to be the guy. So the moment he's picked, people then start,

they go, oh, he's an American. So there's probably more deets about this guy or stuff we can find on him than, say,

the traditional popes we've seen picked in the past.

Obviously, there was no social media when John Paul was the pope.

The other two sense the invention of social media, I don't think of Benedict and obviously

the most recent pope, I don't think they're like banting about the streets,

right? They were older people when they became Pope, et cetera. And so you didn't really get,
