hell. This is hell and there's not much more of a dissenting opinion in the United States then

what we will be discussing today which is agriculture in the United States has little to do with feeding the world

and even less to do with providing quality healthy food to the public.

It's even more of a dissenting opinion when it's from someone

who is raised on a family farm, has farmed for a significant part of their life, and has a degree in farm management.

As today's guest will argue agriculture and food have little to do with one another here in the States

US agriculture actually produces far more livestock feed than it does food for you know

humans like you and I. It's all because of the introduction of free market reasoning to food production

which has led to highly concentrated big agriculture with its huge farms that have changed farming from a way of life to being a big business.

In doing so, agriculture has destroyed small town rural America no matter what members of those communities

say or want you to believe. In a few minutes we're talking agriculture not food with award-winning agricultural

journalist Alan Giebert who posted the baffler magazine article farmed out American agriculture is about business, not food.
