Hello, and thank you so much for joining me today for Give Him 15.

The title of today's post is America's Pharaohs.

Holy Spirit told us 19 times in chapters 4 through 14 of Exodus that Pharaoh's heart was hardened. It is rare for God

to repeat himself that frequently in Scripture. Obviously it means he's making an important point. Several of the verses

clearly indicate that Pharaoh hardened his own heart, but many of the references

state that God also did so. Since he neither forces nor tempts anyone to sin, what does this mean?

Holy Spirit is informing us that Pharaoh hardened his heart to an irredeemable level, at which time God chose to harden it further to serve his purposes.

Yahweh not only delivered Israel, he also used Pharaoh's pride, stubbornness, and obstinacy to expose the false gods of Egypt and reveal himself as the true God to the people of Egypt.

The hardening of one's heart to the point of exhausting God's mercy and redeeming grace,

as Pharaoh did, is a fearful thing to consider.

Only a high level of evil can do so.

God is long-suffering, kind.

He identified himself to Moses as, quote, the Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and merciful,

slow to anger and abounding in faithfulness and truth.

But Pharaoh's pride and wickedness had caused him to do so.

He actually said in Exodus 5-2,

Who is the Lord that I should obey his voice to let Israel go?

I do not know the Lord.

And besides, I will not let Israel go. I do not know the Lord. And besides, I will not let Israel go. I fear that some leaders in America have hardened their hearts to this level of evil. I realize that only Yahweh, the Supreme Judge,

has the right and ability to determine this.

Yet, the justification of killing babies,

even after their birth, trafficking in children, and by the way, ridiculing
