The debate over guns continues with schools in the crossfire.

Hello again, I'm Armin Alney, and this is To the Point from Public Radio International,

a dated look at the issues Americans care about most. In just over two years, since 26

killings at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, there have been 100 school

shootings, one every five weeks. Congress has done nothing,

but in various states, new laws and ballot measures are going in different directions. Some are

toughening gun control while others are allowing concealed carry in public schools, and there's big

money for campaigns on both sides. At the same time, while guns are still selling, the number of people who own guns

is on the decline. We'll look at some challenging contradictions. Today's talking point that Dalai Lama

says he might not reincarnate after all. First, here's the news.

There's a range from outright bans to concealed and even open carry. We'll talk about

that. Today's talking point, mainland China is ordering the Dalai Lama to reincarnate. That's not a

headline from the onion. We'll heard about the latest dispute over who controls the Buddhist

leadership of Tibet. First is news update yesterday in the wake of a scathing report by the Justice

Department, the beleaguered chief of police in Ferguson, Missouri, resigned. Early this morning,
