Tonight will be a, I don't know, I guess disturbing discussion.

Anytime you talk about true crime, it could get disturbing, but that's kind of the fascination we have with it.

I don't know what the attraction is, but almost everybody has the interest in watching television shows or documentary films or things like making a murderer or the staircase or even

true crime podcasts they're very very popular because people have this morbid curiosity and in some

cases it's just you know the truth is stranger than fiction and when you hear these stories

you just can't believe they're real, even though you know they are.

So we're going to have one of those discussions tonight. Our guest, Mary Kay McBrayer, is a true crime author.

She's written a book called America's First Female Serial Killer, Jane Toppen, and the making of a monster.

This is a story that I was completely unfamiliar with until I stumbled across her book.

And it's one that you should be familiar with because it's so unbelievably horrifying what this woman did and when she did it.

Mary Kay is also a host of a podcast called Everything Trying to Kill You,

which is a horror comedy, horror movie comedy podcast.

So we'll learn a little bit more about that as well tonight during our discussion with Mary Kay.
