And greetings, my friends, patriots, lovers of democracy, truth and justice, believers

in peace, freedom, and the American way Tom Hartman here with you.

We're confronting, and particularly, communities of color in the United States, particularly

black communities in this country, African-American communities, confronting some serious problems

that go even beyond the obvious physical and economic challenges that have been imposed

by, you know, 400 years of slavery and then Jim Crow and then redlining it in, you know,

today just systemic structural racism, police violence, these ongoing crises.

And Dr. Joy Lewis is working to do something about that.

Dr. Lewis is the CEO and founder of the Healing Justice Foundation, a national nonprofit

founded in Minneapolis that provides community resources to address inequalities and offers

urgent healing and support to African-American and to black people.
