1:38.7	The rate of children diagnosed with autism in the United States has increased exponentially over the past two decades.
1:46.0	New data released by the CDC this week shows autism affected one in 31, eight-year-olds in 2022.
1:54.1	Compare that to just one in 36 two years earlier.
1:56.7	It is five times higher than what was recorded in the year 2000 when the health agency first
2:01.5	started collecting this data.
2:02.6	The CDC believes the increase is due to more awareness and more high-tech screening.
