Hello again, I'm Armin Alney, and this is To the Poet from Public Radio International.

A daily look at the issues, Americans care about most.

The white population has grown in the United States, but not as fast as Latinos and Asians.

In less than 40 years, whites won't be the majority anymore. The Latino growth is a function

of birth rate, not immigration. Blacks are still about 12 percent, and they're moving back to the

south and out to the suburbs.

These are just some of the revelations from the latest census worth knowing for their own sake,

but also because of what they will mean politically.

How will they impact the makeup of Congress and President Obama's chances for re-election?

We'll answer those and other questions today.
