0:48.3	know more about Labor than acting U.S. Secretary of Labor, Julie Sue.
0:52.7	Previously the Deputy Secretary of Labor,
0:55.2	Julie Sue became Acting Secretary of Labor in March 2023.
0:59.3	A nationally recognized expert on workers' rights and civil rights who dedicated her legal career
1:04.2	to advancing justice on behalf of the poor and disenfranchised. Before joining the US
1:08.8	Department of Labor, Acting Secretary Sue served as Secretary for the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency,
1:15.4	enforcing workplace laws, combating wage theft, ensuring health and safety of workers on the job,
1:21.2	as well as administering unemployment workers comp and
1:24.2	dealing with paid family leave. Acting Secretary Sue was also the California Labor
1:28.9	Commissioner for seven years making sure the workplace was both fair for employers and employees.
1:34.7	Along with all the experience she brings to the job, acting Secretary Sue has also been
1:38.9	named to like every top lawyer list across the country, as well as being a recipient of the MacArthur Foundation Genius Grant.
