Coming to you from the great state of Texas and you know today I really wanted to focus on

our nation's birthday this year a nation turns 250 years old this year on July 4th and you know

this is the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

This is where the original 13 colonies were saying, you know, we're kind of done with this.

We really don't need a ruling body, a monarchy.

And, you know, it gave an opportunity for the people leaving England coming to the new world to reflect on, you know, different things.

Like, why did they come here in the first place, right?

Why were the, what was the foundation of America?

Why did they commission these people to come across, you know, these dangerous waters,

really not knowing even what they're doing, honestly.

I mean, they didn't even know where they were going.

And so why were they founded?

Well, the economic was one of them, right?

England was looking for new trade and resources and new trade routes.

And that's really one of the major motives for the new world being discovered, I guess you can say.

You know, they wanted to generate more wealth and they wanted to open up more trade resources for England.

And then there was a subset of people that were looking for religious freedom.

They were persecuted in England and they just decided that, you know, it might be better to try
