Tuesday proved to be another seismic moment in the House of Commons in its efforts to unlock

the Brexit stalemate.

No less than seven amendments were tabled and voted on by MPs in their efforts to move Theresa

May's hand, and generally it was a good evening for the Prime Minister.

The House may have voted against a notion or no deal Brexit,

but it didn't back an amendment that would have given it the ability to stop it.

And Mrs. May managed to coalesce a slim if shaky majority around another amendment

that said the House would back her deal if only that blighted Irish border backstop would somehow change.

Sir James Blitz, as I said there, Theresa May actually had a pretty good night in the House

of Commons because MPs didn't remove that crucial card that Prime Minister has desperately held
