Imagine stepping off a boat in Egypt in the late 1800s.

The desert sun blazes across the sand, and towering ruins rise from the earth like giants from another time.

Giant statues sit in silence, temples lie half buried in dust, and hieroglyphs cover walls that haven't

been touched in thousands of years. The wind carries the sound of birds and the soft whisper of

the past. Most people walking here are men, explorers, treasure hunters, scholars, but among

them is a woman with a notebook in her hand and

curiosity in her heart. Her name is Amelia Edwards, and she is about to change the world's

understanding of ancient Egypt. At a time when most women were expected to stay home, Amelia set off

on adventures. She wasn't a queen or a

pharaoh. She didn't wear a crown or carry a staff, but she carried something just as powerful,

her pen, her voice, and her passion for protecting the past. Amelia Edwards was a writer,

traveler, and defender of history. Through her words,

actions, and bravery, she helped save Egypt's ancient wonders and sparked a new love for

archaeology that still burns today. Amelia Edwards was born in London in 1831, into a comfortable middle-class family. Her father

had once been an army officer, and her mother came from a well-educated background. From an early

age, Amelia showed she was no ordinary child. She was bright, curious, and full of energy.
