So it has been a little while since we've done a news roundup.

Folks might have noticed that we took a little bit of a break, which, Mike, honestly, is not my favorite thing.

I, believe it or not, I really value sitting down and just riffing and giving my takes on some news stories and what's

going on every week. But as you know, we sat down to do it. I think, was that two weeks ago now?

And I don't know if it was just the news was really getting to me. I kind of caught myself really

needing a break.

I imagine that if I was feeling that way,

it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine that the listeners were also feeling that way,

just sort of feeling a little bit overwhelmed and meeting a break.

It's hard because, you know, it's important to stay informed,

but one of the drawbacks of being informed and staying informed is that sometimes it is truly just such a bummer.

100%. Like the news can be pretty depressing and, yeah, sometimes you just need a break.

And it really made me think about sort of what we do here on the show, the news roundup. I always try to talk about

stories that you might not hear elsewhere. I might start with a story that everybody's talking

about or throw a couple in there if I really am interested to talk about it, but I try to

have this be something that, you know, you're not going to hear stories necessarily that you would

hear anywhere else. I try very hard to not talk about the president because unless I have a reason, unless it's like there is a reason to talk about what he's doing or what he said.

Otherwise, it would just be him all the time. And who wants that? There's such a thing as Trump fatigue.
