What we're doing tonight is in addition again to Jesus in the Old Testament.

This is actually like part 23 in that series.

This is going to be going through a messianic Psalm and while I haven't taught this series

in quite a while I will

for people watching online. I'll put links in the video

description for you to click if you'd like to watch the the whole series

which I of course highly recommend but wouldn't I? It's my series. But what we're doing tonight is Psalm 16 it's a messianic

song that is it's about Messiah it's about Jesus it's about the coming one

it's written about a thousand years before Jesus shows up and so it has some pretty big significance there

It's poetic. It's very poetic and so we're going to cover it with that in mind

But it's often seen often seen although I will disagree with this, it's often seen as the only place in the Old Testament where the resurrection of Jesus is predicted.

I'm going to explain that towards the end. I'll share some other places as well.

But here's the plan for tonight.

We're going to read the whole song just straight through.

Then we're going to go through it two more times,

not just reading it, but studying it.

We're going to study it once as it relates to David and how it applies to our lives and how we look at it. We're going to study it once as it relates to David and how it applies to our lives

and how we look at it as simply being a song. By doing that we're going to sort of unpack

the meaning of the song, understand it in context. Then I'm going to move more quickly

back through it a third time. The third time is to show you the messianic significance of this passage of this Psalm.
