Summary

A survey of examples of how Jesus is pictured in the Tabernacle of Moses. This is one of my favorite examples of typology! From the bronze altar to the ark of the covenant to the materials used in the coverings of the tabernacle we have wonderful illustrations of the person and work of Christ. 0:05.8	biblically about everything. So in our continuing series in Jesus in the Old Testament
0:12.0	we approached the topic of Jesus in the Old Testament we were approached the topic of
0:14.0	Jesus and the Tabernacle. So we're going to do tonight is talk about how Jesus
0:18.3	is pictured in the Tabernacle. When I say Tabernacle, I'm not talking about the temple in Jerusalem,
0:24.1	I'm talking about the tent tabernacle that was a portable temporary unit that they would construct
0:30.5	and then tear down and move. And this is like given to them in the law of Moses,
0:34.7	and they carried and continue to have it
0:36.5	until the time of Solomon.
0:38.0	They continue to have this tabernacle set up
0:41.1	more often than not.
0:42.2	So this is in Exodus 25 through 40. You're welcome to read those
0:45.8	16 chapters really quick right now in preparation. But I'll give you the overview and how
0:51.4	it parallels Christ, at least in my opinion.
0:54.3	I admit some of this stuff is conjecture.
0:56.6	Some of this stuff is me going, I think maybe this, I think maybe that.
1:00.0	But we're allowing conjecture in our Jesus in the Old Testament search as long as we start with
1:05.0	New Testament theological truths and then we conjecture how those are pictured in the Old Testament.
1:09.6	We're not making up new stuff.
1:11.2	We're not here creating new theology. And we'll talk about that next week when we
1:14.4	get into bad examples of typology and how not to do typology. But one of the things we get
1:20.0	that's important to note is that the Tabernacle was designed by God not man that is it
