Man trying to retrieve a cat perched at the top of a tall pine tree ended up needing to be rescued himself in the Los Angeles Mission Hills neighborhood on Wednesday night.

LA firefighters were sent to Burnett Avenue after receiving reports of a man, trapped in a tree about 1130 at night.

When Cruz arrived at the scene, they found the man was still stuck relatively high up the 60-foot

pine tree. Video footage shows the man's black and white cat perched at the very top of the tree.

Or he was trying to rescue it before he got stuck. Fire crews then used a ladder to assist the

man down from the tree and evaluated him for any injuries. He was soon released and seen walking

back to a group of onlookers who had gathered at the scene.

The cat was left to its natural ability to climb down due to a series of high-voltage lines

that made rescue efforts dangerous for firefighters.

So the cat basically just ended up coming down on its own.
