This is our first AMA for the science salon,

skeptic science salon. By way of background, we've never done one of these. I've

never done an AMA and I was a little hesitant to do so not sure if anybody

really cared what I had to say about a lot of these different topics so I was relieved and

and pleased that we got hundreds of responses so perhaps we'll do this again.

Just by way up background, as you know we've been doing science salon dialogues which evolved

out of our Caltech science lecture series. Science

We had over 300 of those events and then in 2015 we transitioned to doing dialogues mainly because I thought it was

more productive way of exchanging information and thinking deeply about these

different topics

convinced in part by Richard Dawkins' emphasis

on these conversations rather than canned lectures

that he started doing, and also by doing a lot of podcasts myself as a guest and I thought
