After Paul Bosch died, after a heart attack in his home in Sugarland,

Irv Marks at the memorial to him said this.

While we were making the commercials, we always had a lot of fun. Mac was there, Doug Russell was there, and myself, and we'd visit for a while, and then I'd bump into Mac, and I'd take the money out of his pocket. He'd do his commercial, jump up and down and look for his money.

It wasn't there. He'd go berserk. And we always had a spare microphone pole there. And sometimes I'd

sort of goose him while he's doing his commercial. He'd jump out of his skin. He was a lot of fun.

And, but that was the atmosphere that paul created

paul created an atmosphere of comfort for the sponsors and and fun for us and uh we sort of

sort of miss going down there on friday night i sort of miss paul as you know paul had uh huge

cauliflower ears.

I guess that was his purple heart of the wrestling ring.

And every time we got to dinner, I'd always make fun of his ears.

He loved when I did it, incidentally.

And one time I told him, and my wife lays claim to this, that she asked him to wear earrings and do an ad for the store. But it was really my idea. And I told him, I said, Joan Anath did panty hose and Pavarotti did furs. Gosh, you got to do earrings. Love the idea.

We did a newsprint ad.

We took the pictures right here in our store, in our employee lounge.

And one of the local magazines went run it.

They thought it was not too right for a man to be wearing hearings.

So we sent it to Texas Monthly.

Texas Monthly published the ad.

It was written up in Ad Week, Ad Age.

Everybody was talking about it.
