Investigators say that a Houston area postal worker has been arrested after stealing a check worth

nearly $44,000.

Investigators say back in July of 2024, so last year, a city official from Wood Branch

Village contacted the Montgomery County Precinct for Constable's Office to report

a check fraud. They said a check totaling $44,000 that was sent to a contractor had been stolen.

It was later discovered that the check had been altered and deposited into an unknown account.

The Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable said a lengthy investigation was conducted,

and the suspect was identified as 40-year-old Bridget Ragland.

Officials obtained an arrest warrant for the charge of theft, classified as a third third degree felony. Raglin was later arrested

at the post office where she worked in Northwest Houston on Thursday, October 9th. According to court

documents, Ragland told investigators she obtained the check after calling a number posted on a sign

labeled as business loans.

That's kind of a clever response.

And said someone named Greg provided her with the check.
