Yeah. is on the air. I'm fascinated by this question of the artist and the art,

which is also true, the athlete and his performance, the politician and his leadership.

During the 2016 campaign, there was a moment where fellow Republicans thought they had Trump.

And that was the release of the Billy Bush, ironically, audio.

Then head of Miss America, Donald Trump.

There was, he and Billy Bush had entered onto this bus,

and there was a recording of it.

And he said, I like to grab them by the, he used the P word for the who-hoo.

Based on everything I had observed in campaigns prior to that point, I thought that could be

enough to knock him out.

But what happened, and Trump is singularly unique in this way.

There was such a cult-like following and connection to Trump that I think literally nothing could have disconnected him from that early core voter.

Some of you were that early core voter, and some of you like me came on much later.

And the early core voter is probably the most obnoxious person in politics you'll ever meet,

because no matter how many times I say I wasn't

for Trump I thought he was a stalking horse I thought there was an attempt to put someone in there

who was going to sandbag the presidency and it would destroy the Republican Party forever if I say
