It is an even number of years that the state reps are elected, and it is in odd years after those elections, months after those elections, that the legislature begins a 150-day session.

Brendan, let me start with the question that bothers me most.

Why on earth did they not tackle property taxes? It's the issue I hear more complaints

about than anything else. It's what particularly the base, but all Texans want fixed.

Well, it's one of those issues that should be a no-brainer, right? Because I mean, I don't care

if you're a Republican or democrat all of these candidates and

most of the people who are in office in both parties campaign on some level of property tax

relief and so you know the state once again faces a massive surplus i think it was 24 billion
