Mayor John Whitmire says he will de-emphasize Sylvester Turner's Vision Zero Transportation

Infrastructure Plan that if you recall basically tried to push everybody into public transit

Sylvester Turner said the plan would eliminate traffic fatalities and serious injuries by 2030.

Because everybody'd be on a bus, you jackass, And his buddies would get paid out of the deal.

I'm sure he worked.

I'm sure he finagled some of his corrupt buddies

into some of those metro contracts. I'm sure they're doing the pickup for the

hospitals and the elderly and crippled because that's a massive contract if you

get that contract. I was told years ago that that was what was

keeping yellow cab in business after Uber. Remember when Sylvester Turner

declared that Uber wouldn't be allowed in Houston. Problem is they'd

already started and once people get their beak wet, just a little bit, and they realize how wonderful it is,

they don't want to go back to yellow cab. Yellow cab is not preferable. it's inferior in many ways.

Let me call a cab get a desultry woman on the line who speaks English with some sort of, shall we say,

accent that nobody understands. Then try to explain to her where I am, have her tell me he'll be here in an hour,

show up with a filthy stinky car for an expensive ride, that's just really not an ideal experience.

So when Uber came in, the Chronicle teamed up with Sylvester Turner, they would love to tell

you stories about an Uber driver getting in an accident, or an Uber driver sexually assaulting a rider.

And you know the funny thing about that?

That fact is not funny.

But the ironic thing about that, do you know how many taxi drivers, sexually assaulted,

riders, at least as many as Uber drivers were?
