B.D. officer, Kendrick Simpel, awarded the Medal of Honor, yesterday the nation's highest

honor for bravery by a public safety officer. For actions he took that are believed to have

saved a lot of lives at the Galleria Mall where a children's dance competition was underway.

It was February 5th of last year and an Argentine national was armed to the teeth.

Rifle, semi-automatic handgun and 120 additional rounds of ammunition when he was subdued by

officer Simpo who was working as an extra job at the Galleria and to think what could have happened

had he not acted so selflessly and quickly. Fresh off his PT officer Kendrick Simpo

so we we were speaking last night on on the air he was in Washington DC to be honored at the White

House and he got in late and then he had to get up and do PT this morning which is why we couldn't

do it at 830 because that was when he was finishing up. What exactly did you have to do?

Well this morning for our new qualifications for our PT test I had to do 2000 rows on our

road machine. You can either do the actual agility run and the mile and a half and the 300 are

you can do the 2000 rows within my time was eight minutes and 30 seconds. For 2000 rows?

Hey well it's about two minutes two minutes of a distance so I did I did pretty good I passed it

that that's the main thing is that I passed it. Did you practice? Yes sir I had to practice
