His leadership was instrumental in the defeat of this impeachment coup by Drunk Dade.

Failing, failing.

Over the last few months, it has absolutely split the party.

Matt, if you had to gas, let's take the Grand Pubas, the party donors, and elected officials out of this.

If you had to gas Republican Party primary voters, the base.

What percentage of them wanted the impeachment of Paxton defeated?

I would say it's probably 25% of the party supporting the impeachment of Paxton.

Probably 75% not supporting the party.

And within that 75%, I would say there were 25% or so.

Probably weren't following it closely in 50% that were strongly against the impeachment of Paxton.

So I think it's definitely going to be an issue in the primaries going forward.

I think you're going to see a lot of House members regret their vote and lose in the primary who voted for the impeachment.

Unfortunately, it's Dade feeling and House leadership that are in the best position to withstand those challenges.

And they were willing to sacrifice freshman members and other people who haven't been to legislature that won't for their own interests.

They cut them up more than any other Republican leadership team I've seen in the Texas House ever.

I had state reps reach out to me through intermediaries yesterday when we made this a big issue.

And I've made very clear that we're going to support whoever is primaring these folks to punish them for this vote.
