Carnival invested millions in security after 2025 cruise brawl,

especially with the brand new Carnival Tropical set to launch in two years,

revisiting the embarrassing April 2025 brawl that engulfed Galveston's Terminal 25 almost certainly ranks near the bottom of the cruise lines list of talking points.

But to her credit, the president of Carnival Christine D, did not flinch when we asked her about it.

Speaking to the Chronicle April 23rd while in town for the Tropical announcement,

Duffy said cruises reflect a microcosm of society, presumably including that small sub-segment,

ready to throw hands at the slightest provocation.

Oh, aren't we speaking in euphemism?

Coming out of COVID, I would say that's one of the changes is that we're seeing more incidents,

Duffy said.

Consequently, Duffy said the cruise line has invested more than $10 million in additional security since the brawl,

including hiring more officers and adding dogs to its terminals.

Hmm.

Carnival has also begun placing dogs on some of its ships, and a lot of that may just be a deterrent.

The brawl occurred on the morning of April 26, 2025, a Saturday as passengers disembarked from the Carnival Jubilee.
