Barry was a professional pool player before joining the United States Army.

There he worked as an MP while stationed in Korea.

And that was probably pretty cool really, living in Korea

during the height of the popularity of the television show, Mash, which was set in Korea

and also from time to time featured military police. Now, I don't know this to be true, but I suspect that one night while sitting in

Rosie's bar with his buddy Barry said that he was going to go into the waterbed

business when he got out. He told him that he knew all there was to know about waterbeds. You have the hard side waterbed and you have the soft side waterbed

The hard side waterbed is a young man's game to be sure that's the waterbed that's all wavy when you roll over.

I mean, it's great for having a slumber party.

If and you have a lady friend over the house,

just be careful that she doesn't have any sharp objects,

like a nail file or a pocket knife, probably a nail file, because those things spring a leak and you won't

ever get your deposit back.

Then you have the soft side waterbed.

That's for the older fella.

It has individual tubes of water that eliminate the waves,

so all you have is comfort.

Once Old Bear returned home, he set out to fulfill that waterbed business dream.
