Well, that part's not true at all, but it sounds better than telling you that they just couldn't compete with the Walmart Supercenter.

But that's what happened.

Speaking of Walmart Supercenter, did you know that Sam Walton got the idea for his Super Walmart stores

after visiting an O'Shawn location?

He walked up to the store president and said, hey, I'm Sam Walton, of Walmart.

And he asked if he could come back the next day and look around and permission was granted.

The next day, Sam returned with Walmart executives and a camera.

That was the very moment that the American O'Shawn was killed.

Oh, it took a while to die, sure, but that was the fatal blow.
