Epic rainstorm yesterday?

A friend of mine named Brian McMacken, who's not a listener of the show. I prefer my friends not

listen because then if I need to make a joke about them, they don't hear it and I can speak freely.

Same with my family.

But he forwards me a message that he got from a neighbor

and they live over near Houston Country Club.

And so think Tanglewood area and if that doesn't ring a bell think

think Sam Philipi was it think think about Woodway and Chimney Rock just west of Woodway and Chimney Rock and

they lost their power during what was basically just a little heavy rainfall.

And he sends a message to my friend Brian McMacken and says, hey, can you ask Michael Berry to talk about the fact that the power goes

out just when it just rains?

I mean, I can understand Hurricane Harvey, but this is too much it does feel like we're losing the power

more often. Yesterday, experts speaking before the Texas State Senate talking about the

grid and I'll read you later in the show, Dan Patrick, the lieutenant governor, which is basically the head of the Senate.

Talking about the fact that senators were shocked that the demands on the grid within just the next few years

are not going to increase by about 30 to 50 percent. they're going to more than double.

And the reason is these crypto miners, and as well as artificial intelligence.

They are a massive drain on your power grid.

They take more power than entire communities, entire towns, and they're growing.

And Texas is becoming a haven for them. The problem is, we're not building the power to keep up.
