Well, when I was in middle school, I used to go to a summer camp in Mississippi, and they would rent these college campuses on Mississippi where we would do our summer camp, which if you ask, what do you do on a college campus for a summer camp, not much. Just sort of walk around and look at buildings. But the highlight of the week, every year, was called the Sadie Hawkins race.

And what they would do is they would gather us kids in the middle of this field,

and they would line the boys up on a line at the edge of a field.

And they would blow a whistle, and all the boys would run out into the field.

And then they would line the girls up and blow a second whistle,

and the girls had to run out, chase the guy of their own choosing, tag him, and then they would line the girls up and blow a second whistle, and the girls had to run out, chase the guy of their own choosing,

tag him, and then take him to dinner later that night.

Sort of how we did it in the 80s.

And in hindsight, I realized, man, that was a really awkward situation

But I would also say it was an awkward situation for the boys

because it created that possibility of you running

and then realizing no one's chasing you, which happened.
