Democrats are in charge. Tell me more about why this should matter to conservatives.

Yeah, because I mean, first and foremost, the reason it matters is the Constitution and the First

Amendment. And it's that to have a free society,

you need citizens, you need a press who can speak truth to power. That's the most important reason

that it matters. But I feel like sometimes, especially in the Trump era, the way to persuade

Republicans of things is to remind them that any overreach of power with the government right

now that they do

can be equally done to them when a Democrats in office.

And I've seen this on any number of things that, you know, I just saw it on the headlines,

but like this Intel deal, for example, that Trump decided that the federal government

was going to purchase a part of a privately owned company, well, publicly traded company. I feel like we'd be screaming socialism if a Democrat did this.
