Morning Wire Afternoon Update. A New York Court of Appeals has rejected

former President Trump's bid to lift the gag order against him. Daily Wire

senior editor Joel Needler has more.

The court says that, quote, no substantial constitutional question is directly involved.

Lawyers for the former president have argued that the order is an infringement on

Trump's First Amendment rights, especially with the November election

right around the corner.

Trump's campaign has echoed those calls, saying the order is unconstitutional, and that

it's an effort to silence the leading presidential candidate. Judge Juan Mershaun imposed the gag order ahead of Trump's New York City hush money trial,

restricting him from speaking about the witnesses, as well as the case,

through the end and even after the trial.

Trump was found guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records

nearly three weeks ago and faces sentencing on July 11th.

More evidence has come to light suggesting strong political bias against Trump

from the district attorney behind that hush money case, Alvin Bragg. A new report

from Daily Wire shows that a year before Trump's historic conviction in Manhattan,

Bragg attended a fundraiser for a group trying to get Trump's name off the ballot.
