And now, chewing the fat with Jeff Fisher. Way back in 2021, NASA ground controllers released a palette that will eventually burn up in the atmosphere.

Will it?

They released this palette of aging nickel-hydride batteries from the space station after the delivery and installation of new lithium ion batteries

as part of power upgrades on the orbital outpost.

Well it's been a couple of years and a guy in Florida was on vacation and his son called and said hey dad

something just smashed through the ceiling of the house and tore up the flooring.

Nobody got hurt, thankfully.

And so he came home and I don't know how, I guess,

because something came from space, they investigated and it went to NASA.

And so now, a month later NASA said yeah you know what that that was ours that

sorry yeah well that was supposed to burn up in space and it didn't so So we're sorry. It weighed about 1.6 pounds, 4 inches tall, and it was part of the equipment from the space station that tore through his home in Naples, Florida on the 8th of March

2024, two years later.

Now I don't know how he gets compensated for that. I don't know if the Space Center and Bill Kennedy at the... Is it Bill Kennedy at the top of it? No, Bill Nelson.

Bill Kennedy is the old TV guy from Detroit. Anyway, Bill Nelson, former senator, is the head of NASA.
