0:11.7	Today, our term, a very interesting term, another alpha here, alpha motor neuron.

0:19.2	Oh, okay, Matt, what are we going to talk about? What do you know about? What do you
0:22.4	know about it, Michael? I know that when we look at neurons, we can have sensory neurons or we can
0:29.9	have motor neurons. Well, you can also have interneurons, and I'm sure I'm sure there's others, but
0:35.2	predominantly sensory neurons are afferent.
0:39.4	They go from an organ or structure towards the central nervous system
0:43.8	to transmit information about the environment, whether it be external or internal.
0:48.3	And motor neurons will efferent, so they should out and away from the central nervous system,
0:53.8	whether that be the brain
0:54.6	or the spinal cord, to tell something to do something, whether it be a muscle to contract
0:59.9	or a endocrine tissue to release a hormone.
1:06.0	Yep.
1:07.0	Whatever it may be.
1:07.8	They're predominantly the two, right?
1:09.2	Yeah, so today when we refer to alpha motor,
1:12.2	we're referring just to skeletal muscle.
1:15.5	Okay, so alpha motor neurons don't innovate glands.
1:18.9	No.
1:19.2	They innovate skeletal muscle.
