Summary

Thunder fall to the depleted Pistons as Cade Cunningham explodes for 29 points, 13 assists, and a trio of steals and blocks—but is Detroit’s rebuild finally gaining traction? Key absences for OKC create wild box scores, with Jaylin “Pig” Williams smashing his career-best and Aaron Wiggins posting an unexpected 20. Still, Josh Lloyd asks: are these numbers for real or just fantasy mirages?

Okay, we're going to get straight into talking about these games on the recap. There are six

1:17.4

of them for Wednesday. A little bit of news to cover off before we get stuck into it. If you

1:23.9

haven't heard, Larry Markenden apparently was injured in practice and now has to have an MRI in both his ankle and his hip. That news broke earlier on today when I was doing the WaverWire show. And then the Jazz have now officially listed him questionable for tomorrow. So, like, okay, what does that mean? But now the report comes from Tony Jones, who was the former Jazz Beat Reporter, who's obviously got a lot of sources with the Jazz, but now the Sixth's Beat Reporter, and says that the NBA is sending someone to independently review the MRI. I wonder why that is. Do you reckon they might not trust the jazz? So while I thought this was officially going to be it for Lowry, now I'm not really 100% sure. I'm sure they'll find a way around something, but I also don't know. I don't know.

Still think that grabbing Kyle Philopausky is pretty obvious. Bryce Sensible is interesting,

2:08.4

although his game is pretty empty. It's points in threes, a lot of it. Maybe there's a little bit

of John Conchard in there, but again, the Lowry stuff still lingers. John Collins was upgraded to questionable for the Clippers, but Kauai was listed as questionable also. I don't really think there's any problem with Kauai in terms of long-term absence or anything like that, but it's something to monitor. And then we got some positive news for Jaron Jackson Jr. He's only listed as questionable for Tomorrow Against the Wizards. Now, again, to be clear, I do not think that he plays. They've got him and Nikol Alexander Walker is listed questionable as well. I think they're going to take it easy against the Wizards. But longer term, that opening that many were hoping for for John Cominga to jump into a large role with Jackson or Johnson being out, it doesn't

look like it'll be the case. And then all the same caveat still apply in terms of the, I was

I was going to say, the schedule for the Hawks as well. But if you've got Jalen Johnson,
