If you don't mind real quick, gang, I'd like to take just a quick aside before we get started.

Go for me just a few moments to say to a few things.

Firstly, I'd like to thank the entire Unexpected Staff for welcoming me in with open arms and giving everything I need to get this massive project going.

Hell yeah.

While this first session is very hands-on and has been a long time coming, I'm thankful

for the patience, incredible players who are going to allow me to paint a very vivid

picture for them to inevitably paint all over, which is the fun of all of this.

Secondly, we are using a D-100 system where you roll under, the hope anyways.

The players want to roll low. Every 10 below the value they need is a degree of success. Every 10 above is a degree of failure.

Damage is typically done with D10s on a roll of a 10 on the die. It's a critical hit. You do an additional D10 and those explode forever.

Lastly, I'd like to remind everyone that this setting is near and dear to us, as it might be for some of you as well.

But no 240K fans are alike.

Everyone sees different things that they like and that they don't like in the setting.

Everyone gravitates towards their own favorite characters and factions, writers, and various rich games and parts of the setting that they enjoy.

That's fine.

Warheimer, of course, is known for its grim darkness, and I promise you that there will be some time and space for that here.

But asking anyone who's read the lore long enough, and you will also find a large variety of different topics, tones, and genres that grace this dark future.

And we hope to include as much of that as we are going to do our very best to make sure that everyone, whether you're new, old, you enjoy different aspects of 40K, everyone has a chance to enjoy this, because 40K is for everyone.

So, if you're new here, welcome. I hope you fall in love with a setting like we have. And if you're not new here, welcome as well.

I beg you to please keep an open mind and forgive us when we make mistakes and act a little foolish,

as we try our very damnedest to entertain.
