We are your hosts, Zach and Krista Horton, and this is Alma 53 through 63, the last

chapters in the Book of Mormon, and the second of a two-part war chapter episode. The book of Mormon

doesn't end here, but it is the end of Alma. The last chapters in the book of Elma.

Last week, we had our first part one, I guess you could say, of these four chapters.

This week we're going to be playing another repeat episode.

But this time, instead of just focusing on your personal battles, like we really talked

about last time, we're taking this into more of a approach to your family,

how to protect your family, how the war that we study in these chapters at the end of Alma

can apply so much to what we're going through in our homes and in our lives right now.

And I think now more than ever, we really have our homes as havens as we

kind of are still on this COVID lockdown. And we're teaching more from our home and we're together

more. I think we find ourselves with more relevant, like I said, again, more relevance than ever

before. So enjoy. and here we go. So if you remember, we left off the War Chapter story with a reversal of fortunes.

Up to the point before, Maroni, Captain Maroni had been winning every single battle. But because

of the kingmen, he had to go back to Zerahemla to fight this civil war. And because of that,

the Lamanites start to gain control. And they start to take over these border cities. Some of these

cities that Maronai had spent so much time fortifying, the Lamanites now start to take over.

And he, Alma, or a Mormon, who's narrating, describes it this way.

53, verse 9, and thus, because of iniquity amongst themselves,

yea, because of dissensions, and intrigue among themselves,

...
