When the son of man cometh shall he find faith on the earth.

Lord I believe help thou mine unbelief.

May our testimonies mine unbelief.

May our testimonies be as deep and strong as that of Jacob, who was confronted by one who sought to destroy his faith declared,

I could not be shaken. The Oh, May we teach our children repentance and forgiveness, including that which we have received through Jesus.

He was our only hope.

He is our only hope.

He is their only hope as well.

Now having made that message clear in 36? Alma is ready to move his son forward in 37,

which is something of a passing of the mantle, since Helaman will very shortly become the

one to bear that mantle moving forward. This is a lot like

Mosiah chapter one as King Benjamin prepares his son Mosiah to bear the crown

to reign in his stead, but begins that passing of the baton with a passing of the plates.

And just as Mosiah 1 focuses on scripture, so does Alma Chapter 37.

Almost everything in this chapter focuses on the word of God.

He says in verse one,

My son Helaman, I command you that you take the records which have been entrusted with me.

This is a sacred trust, treat it as such.

Verse 2, I command you that you keep a record of this people, according as I have done, upon the

plates of Nephi, and keep all these things sacred which I have kept even as I have kept them

for it is for a wise purpose that they are kept.
