May our testimonies my unbelief.

May our testimonies be as deep and strong as that of Jacob, when confronted by one who sought to destroy his faith declared,

I could not be shaken. The The Welcome back everybody. In Alma 30 we talked about Korahor, this ultimate

Antichrist in the Book of Mormon and by the end of the chapter he has met an ignominious end, not at the hands of the

Zoramites, but rather at their feet. And it's the Zoramites that we'll spend our time with now in Chapter 31.

Now to teach Alma 31, I wish I could do it the way one of my beloved early morning seminary

teachers did back in California where I grew up. Our teacher was Sister Beumen, the

mother of one of my best friends, this short little lady that had raised a

huge family of her own and now was raising the rest of the kids in the ward.

She usually came across as pretty straight laced,

but she had a trick up her sleeve for Alma 31

that took all of us by surprise.

Now there was a guy in our class whose name was Corky.

I don't know if that was his real name or just what he went by.

And he was a little bit older than me and my circle of friends,

so I never really knew him well.

But he was his own character.

Kind of did his own thing, didn't care what people thought,

was kind of quirky, maybe that's where the name came from,

I don't know.
