Here to talk about Alma chapters 30 and 31. This is such an interesting placement. We're right in the

middle of the book of Alma. And we've just finished the wonderful missionary experiences of the

sons of Mosiah in bringing so many thousands and thousands of Lamanites up to join the traditions

of Lehi and looking forward to the coming of Christ.

And then we have an Antichrist, Corahor.

And followed on the other side of chapter 31 is Alma's successful missionary work to the poor

of the Zoramites.

He also has unsuccessful missionary work with the other Zoramites, but it's interesting where

this chapter of Khorah is placed.

And it's not just significant because it's in the middle of the book, but it is significant

that sandwiched between these two missionary stories, we have a very important date.

And Jackett says that in this chapter, chapter 30, we finished the 16th year of the reign of the judges.

They're bearing their dead.

It's a time of morning.

And then in verse 6, it's the 17th year of the reign of the judges. They're bearing their dead. It's a time of mourning. And then in verse six, it's the

17th year of the reign of the judges. 17 plus 33 is the time period back to King Benjamin.

It's the 50th year. Whether it was actually a Jubilee, it might have been. It's possible that

King Mosiah was crowned by his father on a Jubilee year, because a lot of

the things that he talks about there, about taking care of the poor and giving to the needy,

and those are all the kinds of things that...
