I am Sam Staskell, joined by my colleagues, colleagues, plural, Paul Tenorio and Felipe Cardenas.

We are here in Mexico City.

We were at the S-TECA.

We have all filed our stories that will be up at some point on the athletic.

And we're here to talk about the match.

Zero-zero-zero draw between the Americans and the Mexicans.

A good point for the USM&T, a not-so good point, I think, for Mexico, from an emotional standpoint,

Fuerre-a-Tat-Tas, ringing around the Azteca at the final whistle.

So the perspective is a little bit different on both sides of the coin and of the rivalry here.

But both sides are in good position to qualify.

They're now both on 22 points. The U.S. is ahead on the goal difference. And thanks to Honduras,

who drew against Panama earlier in the evening on Thursday, both are in a really, really strong

position to book a place in guitar on Sunday, the U.S. taking on Panama, of course, and Mexico playing El Salvador.

No, not El Salvador. Honduras, I believe.

Apologies there for the verbal typo.

So, yeah, the game itself, frankly, wasn't that sexy, wasn't that great. Great of soccer was frenetic.

It was kind of a mess.

Not super duper interesting.

The U.S. had two huge chances.

Mexico had a series of kind of half chances and long distance shots, but not really a ton in this, in my opinion, apart from those two huge looks.
