the MLS Players Association released their by annual list of salaries the first one is always

the best one and the most insightful and the most interesting one uh which is something you know

I think it's an annual tradition now that we devote a show to this

to this salary data. There's a lot to parse through. We will be parsing through all of it,

players, teams, reflections. So yeah, I guess that's where we start. What do you think of the

name Tam Christmas? I feel like it's okay, but we can maybe do better. I think it's definitely one where we are open to suggestions from listeners that could

coin whatever we want to call this. I'm sure there's some play on the word of salary dump

that we can use. Wow. Let's not get vulgar here, okay?

It's hard not to get your mind out of the good scenario. It's really hard not to.

The big headline, I think, from the salary data release is that Geron Shakiri is the highest

pay player in MLS, and I believe in MLS history. The salary of 8.15 million from the Chicago Fire.

That, of course, is on top of the reported $7.5 million transfer fee that they paid to

Leone to acquire him earlier this winter.

That is a ton of money, especially for the level of production that he has provided

thus far. Of course, Shikiri will not be the highest paid player that he has provided thus far.

Of course, Shakiri will not be the highest paid player in MLS for very long.

Lorenzo Nisinez is coming in less than two months now to Toronto FC.

And from what we've been told, Paul, I can't remember if you reported this, if I reported it, if we both reported it.

His contract is like four years and

sixty million dollars so he's gonna he's gonna take that title by by some margin he'll

actually be you know on an average annual value basis he'll be making more money than uh let's see
