Honestly, scouring around for stories in the news that might make some sort of conversation for you and I to have together.

These are the days when we earn our money. Honestly, politics just chugging along calmly and nicely.

Everybody getting along. Country doing really, really well,

economy booming, Brexit turning out to be brilliant.

I mean, how on earth am I supposed to cobble together a so-called phone-in show from such slim pickings?

I do not know, but I shall be a brave little soldier, and I shall push on regardless and hopefully bring you with me.

I don't think I've said this to you yet,

but you have occasionally asked me how I hang on to hope and sanity

in the face of such widespread and epic deceit.
