When you think of quality time spent with somebody that you love, what comes to mind for you?

Often we, I think, have this very ideal image of what quality time looks like, almost as if it's in slow motion.

There's a sunset, there's something very Instagrammable, there's a lovely table of food, there's music playing. There are, you know, elderly people and children dancing in circles spinning around.

Am I right? Sometimes we have this idea that quality time spent together has to be

fancy somehow or has to look a certain way or has this this kind of sheen of perfection, something shiny.

It's definitely not monotonous, right?

It's not the daily routines, the mundane,

the time just spent on the couch, or the times, you know, even arguing in the car or the time deciding you know what

TV show to watch which are the moments that fill up our daily lives right the

majority of our life is routine. And often I think that

there's this pressure in order for us to experience quality time together to maybe book certain vacations or to plan a perfect day or to have

this image in mind of how something should unfold in order for it to be valuable.

And I was speaking to a friend of mine recently

whose son came home from college

to spend some time with his parents.

He's also doing, of course, his own thing as a young man.

He's a musician. of course his own thing as a young man. He's a musician and my friend said to me he's like just having my son next to me on his laptop while I'm on my laptop.

Like he's like I could almost die like our elbows are touching.

He's working on his stuff.

I'm working on my stuff.

We are both just kind of jamming, talking sometimes, drinking coffee. There is nothing glamorous about it.
