and Greta Gerwig.

For Moonlight and Lady Bird, Barry and Greta went all the way home to tell two deeply personal

stories about the places where they grew up.

For Barry, it was Liberty City, Miami.

For Greta, it was Sacramento, or the Midwest of California, as Lady Bird would say.

Let's talk about place.

Yeah, because, you know, moonlight is such a Miami story.

But it's kind of weird because Miami is a place that a lot of people like

know and I think I was telling you I lived in the Bay Area for like eight years

and I never went to Sacramento it's like you, you know, like 90 minutes, two hours away.

So when I saw your film, I was like, oh, this is what,

this is Sacramento is a place, you know.

So just talk to me about, like, you know, what came first?

I want to make a movie about

Sacramento or I want to make a movie about high school, I want to make a movie about

my mom.
