0:26.2	really been enjoying lately. Mystery is the genre that I default to the most. I realize whenever I need,
0:34.2	whenever I need anything, really, readings lump, mystery. Sad times, mystery. Relaxing day on the
0:40.2	couch or by a beach or a pool. Mystery. Like I read obviously a lot more than mystery, which you'll know
0:45.7	people who listen to the show regularly. Like, what about mythology and gothic? Like, yes, I love all
0:50.0	those things. But I do find that this is the genre that I feel that I go to when I want what feels
0:56.5	like a safe bet and not to say that it works out every time or that I like every mystery that I
1:00.2	read. But there's something about the general formula, like an expectation of a resolution with the
1:05.5	kinds of mysteries I reach for that is sort of a balm to me when I just need some literary soothing. So today's picks are two
1:14.6	that I have picked up at times when I needed that little something and that have really just
1:18.5	stuck the landing perfectly. The first is a historical mystery with queer characters and some
1:23.9	badass women detectives. And the second is a cozy that I hope turns into a series if it hasn't already.
