you are obviously open to book recommendations. Not all readers are,

but you are, and I am. And I am thinking that maybe you've had some of the same experiences that

I have, wherein sometimes someone recommends a book to you that you've never read.

Sometimes someone recommends a book and you come back to it months or years later.

And sometimes, if you get really lucky, you get exactly the right book recommendation for the exact moment you need it.

That can happen mentally, emotionally, or in the case of what happened to me last week, just plain old logistically.

I was traveling last week and I met up with a friend who I

swap Rex with sometimes. He happened to recommend a book. I read a sample. I was super interested.

I bought it. And then I ended up getting stuck in an airport for eight hours after a six-hour

flight. So I read pretty much the whole thing. And that is the story of why,

instead of talking about what just a week ago, I thought we would be talking about this month,

we're going to be talking about witches in books in just a minute. All right. So the first book

we're going to talk about is A Resistance of Witches by Morgan Ryan. I wouldn't have necessarily

guessed that this one would be for me, but it did make that very long flight and even longer

layover, much more manageable. So here we are. Resistance of witches is what I would call,

and probably other people also would call a historical fantasy fiction. It's set during World War II. Wiches and magic exist,

but most people don't know about those things. So there's a powerful coven of which is in England,

and their leader has offered to work with Churchill to try to defeat Hitler. That leader's
